Dinner With Dice-K
Non-profit organization Good Sports is auctioning off dinner with Daisuke Matsuzaka and his wife at renowned Japanese restaurant, HARU, in Boston.
The offer is for you and three friends to join the Matsuzakas for "inventive Japanese cuisine." A translator will be provided so you can ask Dice-K about his bum shoulder and why the Sox can't win on the road.
The eBay auction started at $1,000, but the bidding has been hot and heavy as the price has risen to $10,100 as of Thursday morning. Curiously, the listing says the reserve still has not been met. How much are they looking for? -- $20,000? $50,000?
There's still time for you high-rollers out there if you want to meet the Japanese star. The bidding is set to close on June 7 at 2:49:59 ET.
The Story Behind Boston's Tenth
Pig of the Night
The pig of the night was started from our love, and frustration, of fantasy sports. When our players would be performing poorly, we started calling them pigs. As Red Sox fans, even though we love all the players, they can upset us at times. Because of this, we created the daily pig award to help vent some of that frustration and have a little fun. And even though Julio Lugo is no longer with the team, he is still the face of the pig until someone pisses us off more than he did.
